This multi-phase infrastructure project is expanding potable water service throughout Golden Gate City by installing large transmission water mains that connect to regional systems on Collier Boulevard and Santa Barbara Boulevard/Radio Road. These upgrades will improve water pressure, reliability, and long-term service capacity for residents and businesses in Golden Gate City.
Project Phases
Phase 1A: Construction through the Golden Gate Golf
Phase 1B: Extends the main to Santa Barbara Boulevard and Radio Road
Phase 2: Adds transmission mains near Santa Barbara Boulevard, Green Boulevard, 15th Avenue SW, and 48th Street SW
Launched in 2020, the project is being constructed in three phases, with design completed in 2022. Phase 1A is now complete, and Phases 1B and 2 are expected to be finished by late 2025.
This work lays the foundation for future distribution mains and improved service reliability for residents and businesses.
Project History
In 2017, Collier County acquired the Golden Gate City Utility System from the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA). This project marks the first step in a long-term plan to upgrade the area’s infrastructure. Aligned with the Golden Gate City Master Plan, transmission mains will support future distribution systems and service lines.
